Setting Up
Customize AlMiQaT for prayer, focus, and daily routines
Choose prayer timing mode
AlMiQaT supports automatic and manual prayer times.
- Automatic: calculates times from your location and calculation profile. In Africa/Casablanca, AlMiQaT can also use Morocco’s official daily timetable for the selected city.
- Manual: edit Fajr, Dhuhr, Asr, Maghrib, and Isha yourself. Switching from automatic to manual copies the current automatic times into editable fields.
Enable the protections you need
Start small, then expand:
- Open Prayers and enable locks only for the prayers you want protected.
- Set offset (before/after Adhan) and duration in minutes.
- Add app blocks for distracting apps during evenings or deep work.
- Create life locks for sleep, gym, or family time.
- Turn on notifications and confirm a short test warning works.
Menu bar basics
AlMiQaT lives in the menu bar while running. Closing the main window hides the app instead of quitting it, so schedules can keep running.
- Open AlMiQaT — show the main window.
- Stop Adhan — stop current Adhan playback.
- Hide AlMiQaT — hide the window without ending protection.
Start at login
Enable Start at login in Settings if you want AlMiQaT available after reboot. On an installed Mac app, AlMiQaT can also install a per-user launch agent so scheduled locks continue in the background.
