Prayer Locks

Protect salah with timed device locks around Adhan

How prayer locks work

Each prayer can have its own enabled state, start offset, and lock duration. AlMiQaT builds a lock calendar from those settings and the day’s prayer times, then the native layer enforces the lock until the end time.

Offset and duration

Offset controls whether the lock starts before or after Adhan. Duration is how long the Mac stays locked. Keep early tests short — for example 2–5 minutes — until you trust the schedule.

Heads-up warnings

When notifications are enabled, AlMiQaT can warn you 5 minutes and 2 minutes before an enabled prayer lock. Use that time to wrap up, save work, or start the lock early if you are ready.

Adhan during prayer time

If Adhan is enabled, AlMiQaT can play your selected track when the prayer alert fires. Volume and track are controlled in Sound settings. You can always stop playback from the menu bar.

Practical tips

Recommended setup for a calm first week:

  • Enable Maghrib first, then expand to other prayers.
  • Use a modest duration until the habit feels natural.
  • Confirm Africa/Casablanca official timetable behavior if you are in Morocco.
  • If calculation times differ from your mosque, switch to manual and enter mosque times.
