App Blocks
Block distracting Mac apps on a weekly schedule
Overview
App blocks let you choose specific applications and prevent them from staying open during protected windows. During an active block, AlMiQaT can close the selected app process if it is running.
App blocks close selected apps by executable. They are not a network or website blocker.
Create an app block
- Open Blocks and choose the Apps tab.
- Add a block and pick one or more apps with the native Mac picker.
- Set all-day or weekly time ranges using the range planner.
- Optionally set an active date range and a break policy.
- Leave the block disabled until you have reviewed the schedule, then enable it.
Weekly range planner
Drag on a day to create a time range, then choose which days that range applies to. Overnight ranges (for example 22:00–06:00) are supported by the scheduler.
Break allowances
A break policy can allow recurring short windows inside a longer block — for example a few minutes every hour. Use this when a hard all-or-nothing block is too strict for your workday.
